There’s something about fall weddings in upstate New York that just hit differently—and Becca and Ben’s day at Pomona at Blue Barn was the perfect example of that.

From the quiet, emotional moments to a packed dance floor later in the night, their wedding felt effortless in the best way. Nothing forced, nothing overdone—just two people fully present with each other and the people they love.

A Beautiful Fall Day in Rochester, NY

Set just outside of Rochester in Hilton, Pomona at Blue Barn gave us that perfect mix of rustic charm and clean, modern space. Early fall colors were just starting to show, and even with some challenging lighting during the ceremony, the day came together in a way that felt natural and real.

The ceremony itself brought some harsh sunlight—one of those situations you can’t control—but instead of fighting it, we leaned into it. And honestly, it worked. The light added a raw, almost cinematic feel to the moment.

A First Look Full of Emotion

Becca and Ben chose to do a first look along with a private vow reading, and it ended up being one of the most emotional parts of the entire day.

There’s something different about these quieter moments. No crowd, no pressure—just the two of them, fully in it. You could feel everything: the nerves, the excitement, the meaning behind every word.

These are the kinds of moments we try to stay invisible for. No interruptions, no over-directing—just letting things unfold naturally.

Letting the Day Happen Naturally

Our approach throughout the day is simple: stay out of the way and let things happen.

We’re not big on turning weddings into photoshoots. Instead, we focus on capturing things as they actually feel. The laughs that aren’t posed, the quick glances, the in-between moments most people don’t even realize are happening.

When we do step in, it’s only to guide things in a way that still feels natural—nothing forced, nothing stiff.

Becca and Ben made that easy. They trusted the process, stayed present, and just enjoyed their day.

Golden Hour & Sunset Magic

If the ceremony lighting challenged us a bit, golden hour made up for it tenfold.

Right as the sun started to drop, we stepped out for portraits—and everything lined up perfectly. Soft light, warm tones, and that calm feeling you only get at sunset.

These ended up being some of our favorite images from the entire day.

A Dance Floor That Didn’t Slow Down

Once the reception kicked off, it didn’t take long for the energy to shift.

The dance floor stayed packed all night, and one of the standout moments was during their first dance—when Ben lifted Becca mid-song. It was one of those spontaneous-feeling moments that just fit them perfectly.

From there, it turned into a full-on celebration. No holding back, just everyone having a genuinely good time.

Final Thoughts

Becca and Ben’s wedding was a reminder of what really matters on a wedding day.

Not perfection. Not timelines going exactly as planned.

Just being present. Feeling everything. Letting the day unfold as it’s meant to.

And when you do that, everything else falls into place.
